General email settings you need to know

All email programs require the same general settings to allow your email account to work in them. The following descriptions of each setting will help you configure you BRETT-TEK emails - whether @iaccess.ca, @vcs-inet.net, or email from your hosted website – work in any email program.

• Email Address
  An email address is the full address Internet users enter in order to send you an email message, combining a unique username with a particular website.
  
  For example, the username of support on the www.brett-tek.com website would have an email address of support@brett-tek.com.




• Incoming Mail Server (POP3)
  Your incoming mail server will be mail.WEBSITE.COM, where WEBSITE.COM is whatever the end of your email address is.
  
  For example, the email address support@brett-tek.com would have an incoming mail server of mail.brett-tek.com. The default incoming mail server port is 110.




• Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
  Your outcoming mail server will also be mail.WEBSITE.COM, where WEBSITE.COM is whatever the end of your email address is.
  
  For example, the email address support@brett-tek.com would have an outgoing mail server of mail.brett-tek.com. The default outoing mail server port is 25. Some ISPs will block this port, in which case use 587.




• Username
  On BRETT-TEK's servers, the username is the same as the full email address.
  
  For example, when entering settings into an email program, support@brett-tek.com is the email address and username.




• Password
  Every email address requires a password that will grant you access to send and receive email messages.
  
  If you have forgotten your password, or would like it changed, please contact BRETT-TEK by phone (BRETT-TEK will never ask for your password via email). If you know your password, you may change it yourself at any time via the Webmail interface.




• Outgoing Server Authentication
  In order to allow your incoming and outgoing mail servers to work anywhere, outgoing servers require authentication (use the same settings as the incoming mail server).

Setting up your email

There are many different email programs you can use with your BRETT-TEK email accounts. Step-by-step instructions for some of the most popular ones are listed below.

Webmail

BRETT-TEK allows you to access your email account information using any Internet connection, anywhere in the world. When you log in to access your webmail, BRETT-TEK offers three different user interfaces: Horde, RoundCube, and SquirrelMail.

Slower Internet connections may prefer SquirrelMail or RoundCube as their interface is less demanding.

Horde is a more intense email interface with similar features to Outlook including Mail, News, Calendar, Notes, and Tasks.

You can access your Webmail page directly by entering http://www.WEBSITE.COM/webmail in any web browser's address bar, where WEBSITE.COM is whatever the ending of your email address is.

For example, support@brett-tek.com can access it’s Webmail by going to http://www.brett-tek.com/webmail.

Clients with @iaccess.ca or @vcs-inet.net accounts can quickly access a link to their webmail pages here.

• How can I change my email password?

Q. How can I change my email password?

You can change your email password from within the webmail interface. Go to Webmail (@iaccess.ca | @vcs-inet.net) and login with your email address and current password. For customers whose password has been reset, enter the temporary password of “12345” (omitting quotation marks). Once in the Webmail main page click on “Change Password” from the row of buttons nearby bottom.

You can also always contact BRETT-TEK to have your password changed.
